Guiding:  Mikhaal will be your guide through this amazing experience, taking you everyday to new beautiful places. This is what he says:

"
Just as it sounds: We hike and sit surrounded by beauty, power and sacredness through parts of the Grand Staircase Escalante Nat. Monument and Boulder Mountain (Dixie National Forest).
This is all very simple and it will be greatly what you make out of it. I am not your instructor, just a facilitator. You can take advantage of my knowledge of this area, of the land where we have set up the infrastructure to welcome you. A setting that emphasize embracing and infusing the natural environment. That is where the teaching comes from if there is one. Listen to what is around you and inside you. Make yourself so present that you are one with everything. It’s your job.  My wife Tina and I provide you with a beautiful place to slow down.
With most of our “Hike and Sit “ we come back every evening for a nice dinner around the camp fire, a time of sharing with others and a good rest, getting ready for another wonderful day on some other trail.
As for the sitting, it is a non- sectarian experience.  It is your sitting time. It is entirely up to you how you make use of that time. It is a time for silent contemplation. We only ask participants to respect each other space. You are welcome to write, draw or do whatever you need as long as it is respectful.

Gears/clothing:  Plan in terms of the season. Be ready. Bring gears and clothing that allows you to be comfortable in any kind of weather (rain, cold, heat, wind). Think about what you need to sit in a natural environment and be protected if it rains and/or gets cold. We recommend some kind of poncho in case of rain, a good hat for sun protection, a piece of tarp/cloth to sit on if the ground is cold or humid, etc. If you are used to sit on a cushion, bring what ever you feel is appropriate, but always think in terms of weight and space, since you will be carrying it in your backpack. It is up to you to get ready. (Check our website about lodging to get a sense of what is provided).
